Easter celebrations have been taking place this week at Albourne. All the children have enjoyed a visit from the 'Farm to Fork' Tesco initiative, learning about the traditions behind Hot Cross Buns and finding out about the ingredients that go into making them (and also having a taste of these!) We also found out that the Burgess Hill store sells more Hot Cross Buns than any other Tesco store in the country!
Year 4 and 5 enjoyed a visit from the Downlands language leaders, who taught the children about Easter in Spanish and German - the visit included some very tasty easter eggs!
We enjoyed a very sunny walk to St Bartholomew's church for our Easter service. The children shared what they had found out about the traditions behind Easter food, and linked these to a beautifully read recount of the events of Holy Week. Everyone sung beautifully, and the readings were illustrated by some lovely Easter artwork by Key Stage 1.
