Visit to a Hindu Mandir
2nd November 2016
The children in Swallows and Kingfisher classes were fortunate to go on a visit to a Hindu Mandir, to find out more about how and where Hindu worship takes place in our own locality, in order to enhance their learning about different religions. The Apple Tree centre in Crawley is run by the Gurjar Hindu Union. The children were warmly welcomed and were fascinated to see the different deities, admire the colourful sand patterns and learn more about Hindu puja (worship) and prayer (mantra). They were also lucky enough to try out some yoga, and to have a go at ringing the temple bell.
