World Book Day at Albourne.
3rd March 2016
World Book Day 2016 - what an exciting occasion at Albourne!
From Harry Potter to Mary Poppins, Where's Wally to Voldemort, a huge range of characters could be spotted around school. Children enjoyed listening to some favourite stories, and were introduced to some new ones by various members of staff. Book activities and quizes provided lively learning opportunities, and of course the updated library was opened. Our Chair of Governors, Mr Matthew Cutress, made a guest appearance to cut the ribbon, and a representative from the PTA was there to admire all the new books that we have been able to buy with their support. The school librarians were also guests of honour, and were the first to try out the new computer system of checking out chosen books. A reporter from The Argus was in attendance, and we look forward to featuring as 'School of the Week' in the near future, with a focus on this particular event.
