Albourne CE School Science Week has been a great success. We have had fascinating visiting speakers, fantastic physics lessons, super science leaders from Downlands and interesting investigations taking place across the school. Bee hives in Robins class, sugar cube science in Wagtails and Astronappies in Skylarks are just some of these. Our science club have given up their lunchtimes to run MakeyMakey sessions, and the whole week ended with House Stem challenges in mixed groups - designing a shock absorbing lander for astronaut egg in KS1 or making the tallest observatory tower to hold a given weight in KS2.
Our celebration assembly showed just how many super scientists we have in school!
Science Leaders from Downlands set up a range of investigations for our pupils, and then helped the children to share their experiences in an assembly.
Hands-on science investigations took place across the school.
