The writing curriculum has three areas: Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS), composition, and transcription.
At Albourne, we encourage the children to be the best writers that they can be with plenty of time to orally rehearse their writing through talk and drama techniques. The children then have lots of opportunities to draft, edit and evaluate their writing. This process allows them to make choices about their writing and respond to peer and teacher feedback to further develop their work.  We encourage children to look at and respond to peer work and work written by famous authors so that they learn to ‘read as writers’ and then ‘write as writers do.’
